i just joined this forum, for two main reasons.

1-i've been feeling the need to talk to some ex-jw's out there.

i feel like i've only been alive for 2 years, and it's hard to feel normal around the public.

JWs are also in the dark regarding the true meaning of Sheol/Hades.

the watchtower society explains "hades" as being "the common grave of mankind".

christendom's understanding of "hades" is, for the most part, quite different than that of the watchtower society.

the one similarity between the two beliefs is that in both cases "hades" is considered to be a literal place.. the truth of the matter is that neither the watchtower society or christendom has a correct understanding of the terms "hades".

Did Jesus Really Die on a Cross? Awake 4/06

this is a recent article in the awake 4/06 issue.

its funny because my husband and i were just discussing this yesterday.

i was having misgivings as to whether or not wearing a cross is bad.

I started wearing a cross about 3 years ago. It just reminds me of his sacrifice. I feel good when I have it on because it identifies what I believe in. My mom used that stupid Dub analogy of the murder weapon on me and I just laughed at her. How did I EVER preach that garbage?
